Why Live A Paleo / Primal Lifestyle?

the only shoes worth wearing...

Most of my friends probably think that I am insane. I show up to their house toting tupperware filled with homemade Paleo / Primal chili. I workout with them for 15 minutes then proceed to spend the next 30 minutes laying on the ground, in a pool of my own sweat, gasping for air. We go eat out at a restaurant where everybody efficiently orders their meal in less than 30 seconds. I once again grill the waitress for a couple minutes to make sure there is no sugar in the roast duck or hydrogenated oils in the side of vegetables I ordered.

From an average person’s point of view, this lifestyle seems more like a hassle than anything. Why would anyone decide to live this kind of lifestyle?

Now imagine waking up every morning to an anti-hangover. Most of us have experienced hangovers. You wake up, no energy, want to shut out every piece of light from the room, lock your doors, and plug your ears with cotton. Now imagine the exact opposite. You wake up full of energy. The tasks in life that used to make you winded like walking up a long set of stairs, or moving furniture now are completed with ease. You are more alert and focused throughout the day. Your body is a fat furnace constantly burning fat while maintaining muscle mass. The upset stomachs, migraines, and acne all but have disappeared…  That… has been my past year.

Now imagine all off those benefits (and more) easing into your life with less effort than how you are living right now. That’s right… A higher quality of life with less effort on your part… To some this might sound like a shortcut or hack but in actuality, this is how we were meant to live. Gone are the days of self inflicted punishment administered by hour long cardio sessions. This is an EVOLUTIONARY lifestyle based off of the simple fact that human beings did not evolve to live the way we are currently living. The human genome differs only by .03% to that of our ancestors in the Paleolithic era yet our lifestyles and diet differ near 100%. All of these government subsidized grains that have been pumped into our diets (watch Food Inc.) are creating diseases that never existed. Our ancestors rarely had cases of diabetes. Nowadays TYPE 2 diabetes can be seen as early as children in elementary school.

As seen on my post about epigenetics, the choices you make today get passed onto your offspring. Make the right choices to live a long healthy life for yourself and the future generations that inherit your DNA.

3 Tips To Ease Into Paleo / Primal Right Now

Over the past year I have helped convert a lot of people to a Paleo / Primal lifestyle. Recently a close friend of mine, user supacpeon, created a thread in the forums about easing into the Paleo / Primal lifestyle. The only problem is (like most the people I converted) he does not like to cook and is busy with life. If you are someone who is too lazy to cook or too busy with life, here are 3 tips to get you started in the right direction. Be sure to check out the thread in the Forums also.

One thing that I learned after helping so many people become Paleo / Primal is, you have to ease into it. When I first started helping out friends and family I would just throw them right into it. This was very inefficient and caused a lot of people to experience the yo-yo effect of bouncing back and forth between being healthy and binge eating unhealthy foods.

These tips are designed for the everyday person who is too busy or too lazy to cook their own food but will also work for others as a fall back plan. If you do have time and enjoy the cooking process of a Paleo / Primal lifestyle visit our Recipe Blog and whip up your own dishes.
